Job Responsibilities:
Assists students in career exploration and clarity, helping them to identify their interests, skills, and goals.
Coaches students to research information about careers and labour market and guides them in developing a plan of action.
Researches trends in career education, contributing to the team’s knowledge of LMI, including employer hiring practices, occupational/professional guidelines, and current market conditions.
Develops and delivers career education workshops and interactive group sessions that are tailored to specific group needs.
Utilizes a variety of methods to support students: in-person appointments, email, phone, and drop-in services.
Supports the positive functioning of the team by engaging in other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills:
A minimum of 1 year of working experience in Administrative, Human Resources, Consulting Services.
A diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Employment/Career Counselling, Counselling or Human Resources.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written); excellent interpersonal, presentation and coaching skills; Demonstrated skill in developing and delivering workshops.
Strong customer service/ service excellence orientation.
Effective ability to interact with others and deal with situations in ways that respect diverse backgrounds, experiences, and styles.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Demonstrates integrity, ethical decision-making and behaviors that build trust across teams.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Flexibility in adapting to change and participating in consultative decision-making processes.
Mandarin-speaking is preferred.
